5-26-15 Emails on Tuesday!

Yay for memorial day! yay for emailing on a Tuesday! I feel disobedient. but we're all good.

Also, shout out to my Best Sister Friend for turning 22!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! so much love.

This week was pretty good! The first thing that happened is that I STAYED!! woo!!! Cielito Lindo for lifeee!!! Seriously though. haha. this is my 4th transfer. At this point I think I might have one more area my whole mission because I just chill in areas. I like it though. Cielito Lindo is a great area with tons of potential and I adore everyone and everything. So I'm happy as a clam! It's weird though because Sis. Castillo got transfered and now we're back to a normal, 2-person companionship. Very strange. But good.

Now I'm just with Sis. Ferguson. We're doing well. It's a little harder without Sis. Castillo, but all is well. We're working hard and doing our best :)

Olga. Well, crazy things. long story short, she's getting baptized this coming Sunday, the 31st. it's happening. Because she's kicking her boyfriend thing out and all is well in the world!! SO PUMPED.

Also right now I'm working in a different zone! haha. we're having an inter-zone exchange with the Laredo North zone for a few days, so that's exciting!

We've been having some pretty crazy storms here the last week. They're not super long, but they come in really fast and are really intense. One of Olga's neighbors' house got hit by lightning and has a hole in the roof. Good thing God's protecting us!!

Everyone keep doing awesome. I love you all. I wish I had more wise words for y'all, but time is short. Just don't forget to use the atonement everyday, and you'll do great! :)

I love you all!

Hermana Lance

PS My lovely mission mother came to Laredo!! and we now live together again!! So fabulous. I love Sis. Sarmiento Wolff.

5-18-15 11 months down, transfers tomorrow

Hello hello hello!

Well this week felt like forever long and also incredibly fast. asi es.

We worked a TON with Olga this week. and with her son, Aaron! They are so awesome. unfortunately some problems came up that she couldn't control (psycho significant other) and they couldn't come to church :((

Good news is that she's still progressing and so is Aaron, who's 17. The other day we asked her why she wanted to get baptized and how she knew that this was all true. She told us that she has felt a new strength come into her life as we've been meeting with her and as she reads the Book of Mormon. And I can see it, too. From when we first knocked on her door and now, she's a lot happier, calmer, more confident, and stronger. IT'S SO COOL. This gospel is real. Because if it wasn't, it wouldn't change people like that. THE CHURCH IS TRUE.

So right now we're still waiting to know who's getting transferred tomorrow... so.. we'll see. Most people think I'm leaving. I'm praying I don't leave though cause then I would miss Olga and Aaron's baptisms and cryyyyyy. But Wherever the Lord sends me, I'll go happily because any other way isn't fun. And I know that there are people I need to help wherever I go. I just am hoping that God wants me in Laredo for a little longer :)

It's been a fun transfer in the trio. We've had our good times and a couple struggles, but that's how it always is. haha. I love both my companions. If one of us gets transferred, it'll be my first time only having a comp for 1 transfer! pretty crazzyyy.

Well, this week I have re-dedicated myself to the work of the Lord. It's not like I wasn't dedicated before, but we received some training and I realized that I have a LOT to improve. And I have to work harder and focus more if I want to truly get the most out of my mission and help the most people I can. I have a vision and I'm gonna achieve it. :)

I know that Christ suffered for us so that we would have the opportunity to repent and come to Him. And I know that he sincerely yearns for each of us to do that. He's knocking at the door, and we need to open ourselves up to him. I know that peace and true happiness come as we open that door. So, abranlo! :)

With love,

Hermana Lance

5-11-15 Happy Mother's day to all

Happy mothers day yesterday to all you wonderful mothers!

This week was pretty good. Really I don't remember much except that we spent a lot of time with our dearest Olga. She's had a really rough week, but thankfully we've been able to help her turn to her Heavenly Father in her moment of need. I know that we can always turn to God and He will be there for us.

Olga wasn't able to make it to church yesterday unfortunately. So we're not sure when she's going to get baptized. But definitely this month. She's ready, she's just gotta get to church. :)

Well, since skyping was yesterday I don't really know what to tell y'all. ha ha... Next week is transfers, so we'll see if I stay another one in Laredo or if I peace and go somewhere else. I dunno why, but I feel super anxious about these transfers. So I'm hoping they come fast so I can find out what happens, but at the same time I don't want them to come because I might have to leave. Missionary struggles.

Oh ya! I turned 20 this week! that was pretty cool. I got my face smashed in a cake and it was awesome. ha ha. Good times.

5-4-15 I Love Mayyyyy

Wow. I love Mayyyy.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I'm very excited to officially not be a teenager anymore. Woo! Also I'm probably going to get my face smashed in a cake tomorrow. Mexicans love that. Mordida!!!

Let's see.. This week we had interviews with Presidente Maluenda! They were incredible. I learned SOOO much. When I was leaving my interview, President told me that this interview was the most important one I've had. How true that is. I feel like I know my weaknesses better now, and know what I need to change to make the rest of my mission count. Since interviews last wednesday, I've already seen a difference. I'm so grateful that we have leaders and God looking out for us to help us reach our potential. :)

The huge miracle of this week was that Olga came to church!!!! WOOO!!!! it was a struggle, but guess what. GOD ALWAYS WINS.

Also the power of fasting. I know that fasting has real power. When we show God how important something is to us by fasting, He enables us to align ourselves with him and miracles happen. Fasting and Prayer is what brought an angel to Alma the younger. Fasting and Prayer is what helped the sons of Mosiah have incredible success among the Lamanites. and Fasting and Prayer is what got Olga to church. And I know that more miracles are to come. I love God and every one of the tools He's given us to help us be successful.

Well, I guess I'll just finish by saying Happy Mothers Day to all you amazing moms out there! The world needs righteous mothers, so keep going strong.

I love you all! Happy cinco de Mayo! ;)
